RESS Workshops 2008
RESS-sponsored workshops provide attendees with intensive learning experiences and hands-on opportunities. Associate and Professional members receive discounts on attendance fees.

A workshop is in the planning stages to be held during BF 2008 in KY.

RESS Retreats in the past
Open to everyone, RESS-sponsored retreats offer learning opportunities and networking with other artists of all skill levels in a relaxing environment. The 2001 retreat was held on a rolling, tranquil ranch in Templeton, California. Participants were treated to hands-on demonstrations on moldmaking and casting, anatomy and biomechanics, equine behavior, and even equine nutrition!

There are no retreats scheduled at this time.

2001 RESS Retreat
From the 2001 retreat: Randy Buckler of Resins by Randy discussed creating waste and box molds. He also showed some examples of challenging sculptures he'd made molds of in the past. Pictured from left to right, Randy Buckler, Dr. Deb Bennett (seated), Simrat Khalsa, and Carlee Balling.
2001 RESS Retreat
Using tempera paint, attendees painted the skeletal system on one side of a horse, and the main muscles on the other side. Simrat Khalsa is shown painting the bones on the patient Quarter Horse mare. The mare was later trotted and cantered around a ring to demonstrate the movement of the bones during motion.
